Late Saturday night, the team formerly known as Korver's Ransom agreed to send its second hostage to his rightful team.

Eric Piatkowski was sent to piatkowskiYES! in exchange for "a couple of beers the next time the YES! GM comes to Omaha," luckeechief said.

Piatkowski will be moved to the YES! developmental league or practice squad, depending on what Laughlin wants to do.

The release of hostages has marked a turn in basketball operations at the Schroeder Sports Complex. Rather than using terroristic methods in its NBA league, luckeechief has decided to use his global team force to spread the game of basketball throughout the world.

"We're still trying to think of a new team name," he said. "But the philosophy of a global team has always been part of the Ransom. It's just time to leave some of our old methods behind and think of a new team philosophy."

The ex-Ransom GM went on to say his anti-NBAism has subsided due to the efforts of some of the participants in the CBA league this year.

"Colt 45, the YES! and that dude that looks like Earnhardt Junior have really kept me interested in basketball this season," luckeechief said. "I can't say that about too many people. Usually I'm all about the NFL draft, fantasy hockey playoffs and pre-season fantasy baseball at this point."

Possible team names have been tossed around the clubhouse. But the Globetrotter name has been among the leading suggestions so far.

"We want to be ambassadors of goodwill and cheer," luckeechief said.

NOTES: Darko Milicic was signed to replace Piatkowski on the Globetrotter roster. Milicic was a 13th-round draft pick by luckeechief in the 2004 All Hail Darko fantasy NBA league. Darko becomes the fourth Yugoslavian to play for luckeechief this season, joining Peja Stojakovic, Bostjan Nachbar and Sasha Pavlovic. The Trotters haven't had this many Slavians since its 2003 Yugos roster of Vlade Divac, Peja, Vladimir Radmonovic and Predrag Drobnjak.
